8/6/2006: Arrival in Aqaba
You can arrive at Aqaba airport, at Aqaba Port or cross Arava Border from Israel.
Our Ashtar Tours representativ will meet you upon arrival.
We are at your service ensuring baggage claim and customs procedures are swift and easy.
Transfer to your requested hotel.

9/6/2006: A Day Full of Surprises
Today you will visit the historical port of Aqaba and then we take you to the train station where you will be welcomed by a traditional folklore group, joining you on your train ride on the ancient Hejaz Train. Take part in our party and enjoy “shots of Arak” - the traditional Jordanian drink!

We will cross the spectacular desert where some surprises are awaiting you.
A picnic lunch is served on the train.
In Wadi Rum where we will trek deeply into the enchanting landscape in four-wheel-drive vehicles. Let the fabled T.E. Lawrence come alive!

Before sunset we will enjoy a funny camel race followed by a traditional Bedouin party at our desert camp, stunning in natural beauty and celebrate a traditional party with Bedouins. Let´s enjoy the “1000 stars” desert barbecue under the starry desert sky. This night we will sleep in a very traditional way alone in the desert in Bedouin tents.

10/6/2006: Enjoy an Arabian Nights "Lawrence Soirée" at Aqaba Castle!
After your breakfast in the desert you optionally can book a safari on camel-back or enjoy the romance of the desert during a trekking tour.
Wadi Rum is like a moonscape of ancient valleys and towering weathered sandstone mountains rising out of the white and pink coloured sands.
The hospitable and friendly desert people may invite you to share mint tea or cardamon coffee in their black tents.
In the afternoon you will return back to your hotel to relax and get ready for the lovely gala Arabic them dinner, the "Lawrence Soirée" at Aqaba Castle where you will enjoy a concert, followed by a romantic candle lit Gala Dinner in the environment of Arabian Nights.

10/6/06 Today we have to say good-bye - "Ma Salameh"
Transfer to the airport/port/Arava Border of Aqaba for departure or extension program.

10/6/06"Petra" the spectacular Rose-Red City
Transfer to Petra. The most famous attraction is the Nabatean city of Petra which has been mentioned in the Bible under the name "Sela". To reach the city we will walk or ride on horse back to the "Siq", an immense crack in the Nubian sandstone. We will continue on foot through the winding, one-kilometre-long fissure between overhanging cliffs. At the last turn, out of the gloom appears Petra`s most impressive monument - The Treasury. We will find ourselves surrounded on both sides by hundreds of Petra`s carved and built structures, soaring temples, elaborate Royal tombs, a carved Roman Theatre and many other impressive monuments. After our exciting full day visit we will stay the night at our hotel in Petra.

11/6/06: Following the ancient Kings´ Road
Today we will travel along the famous Kings' Highway back to Amman. The 5,000-year-old Kings´ Highway is one of the most memorable journeys in the Holy Land, passing through a string of ancient sights and beautiful landscape. We will stop in Karak where we will visit the Crusader fort.

12/6/06: Following the traces of the Romans
We take you to visit the North. You are driven through the Jordan Valley and pass by the Roman city of Pella. Then we take you to Umm Qeis, the Bible´s "Gadara," where Jesus is known to have visited and preached. The city is renowned for its commanding view over the Northern Jordan Valley spanning across the "Sea of Galilee" (Lake Tiberias), the Golan Heights and Mount Hermon.
The best preserved Roman city is Gerasa, which is called Jerash today.
It was known as the Pompeii of the East, and also known as the city of a 1.000 pillars. We also visit the triple arched gate, the huge hippodrome, the theatre, and the only Roman forum surrounded by 63 ionic columns.
