… From wherever you come - Welcome to Jordan
You will fly
with Royal Jordanian Airways via Amman to Aqaba. The adventure begins the
moment you arrive at Aqaba's International Airport. We are at your service
ensuring baggage claim and customs procedures are swift and easy.
We take you to your beautiful 5-star beach hotel where you will dine fine
and spend the night.
Thursday: Enjoy a relaxing
swim in the Red Sea and fascinating Petra by Night
Be ready for
the relaxing sun-and-sand attractions of Aqaba, Jordan's Red Sea resort. We
will spend the day at our beautiful beach hotel and enjoy the lunch at Mövenpick´s
Sea Food Beach Restaurant.
In the afternoon you will continue to Petra where we will spend the night
in a 19th century totally renovated village which
offers first class guest accommodation and facilities while experiencing the
original way of life in a typical Jordanian village of that era.
If the weather is nice you will enjoy your dinner at "Bustan" village
square that provides daily entertainment, hubbly bubblies (water pipe) and
offers you a breath taking view of the Petra mountains. In Winter the delicious
restaurant offers you a wide ranging buffet.
After dinner fascinating "Petra by Night" is awaiting us. We walk
through the "Siq", the winding, one-kilometre-long fissure between
overhanging cliffs, beautifully illuminated by candles. At the last turn,
out of the gloom appears Petra`s most impressive monument - The Treasury.
In front of this fascinating candle-lit monument we will be received by a
Bedouin playing the flute for us.
Friday: ... Following
the Footsteps of "Lawrence of Arabia"
Today we will
visit Petra at day time. We find ourselves surrounded on both sides by hundreds
of Petra's carved and built structures, soaring temples, elaborate Royal tombs,
a carved Roman Theatre and many other impressive monuments.
Lunch will be served at the pool-terrace of Forum Crowne Plaza Hotel, where
we can also enjoy a relaxing swim.
Then we continue
on to Wadi Rum where we will trek deeply into the enchanting landscape in
four-wheel-drive vehicles.
Let the fabled T.E. Lawrence come alive.
After Sunset we will rest at our desert camp, stunning in natural beauty and
celebrate a traditional party with Bedouins and enjoy the "1000 stars"
desert barbecue under the starry desert sky. This night we will sleep in a
very traditional way alone in the desert in Bedouin tents.
Saturday: Say "good morning" to the camels and "good night"
to Aqaba´s Tropical Paradise at the Red Sea
After your breakfast
in the desert you will start your safari on camel-back and enjoy the romance
of the desert.
Wadi Rum is like a moonscape of ancient valleys and towering weathered sandstone
mountains rising out of the white and pink coloured sands.
The hospitable and friendly desert people may invite you to share mint tea
or cardamon coffee in their black tents (picnic lunch).
In the afternoon we return back to Aqaba and enjoy the beach. In our room
we find an invitation of Sheik Ziad who invites us for an Arabian Nights Dinner
at Aqaba Castle. What a surprise!
We enjoy a never forgotten Fairy tale farewell party at the historical Aqaba
Castle together with Sheikh Ziad and his people that organized for us Oriental
music, belly dancer, story-telling ... which accompanied every proper Arabian
Nights´ dinner.
Sunday: ... today we
have to say good-bye - "Ma Salameh"
After a lavish
breakfast we will take you to the airport in Aqaba ... only a 15 minutes drive!
We are at your service ensuring departure procedures are swift and easy.
